To our supporters:
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Camp Rise Up will be postponed until April 2026. When Camp Rise Up first came into creation, we had one main goal: to build a community of peer support for adolescents who have experienced a loss to suicide. To provide peer support, we needed a certain number of registrations for each age group – unfortunately, we did not meet this number.
Please know that this was a difficult decision for the committee to make as we all understand the need in our communities for adolescent support following a suicide loss. Unfortunately, with low enrollment at this time, we are not able to provide those who did register with the day that we promised and the day they deserve.
We are currently exploring other options to provide support throughout the year and remain committed to our original goal. Camp Rise Up will soon be a part of The Rise Up Initiative, a non-profit supporting adolescents who have experienced a loss to suicide. Also, this coming Fall, we will be hosting a remembrance event which will be announced shortly. We also will be available for any schools, groups, etc. who would like us to provide bereavement support to children and teenagers, or for their parents and families.
We continue to be incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from the community. Be assured that our mission remains a priority for the Camp Rise Up committee, and we are focused on supporting adolescents.
